Oskar Werninge lives in Ă–land, an island on the south east coast of Sweden. Based in Sweden since 2013, he performs widely on the guitar and lutes at various venues in Scandinavia. Oskar Werninge began his career studying the classical guitar at the music High School in Oskarshamn, continued with two year studies at an music school in Helsingborg. After one year musicology studies at Lunds University, followed a BMus honours degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. While at Guildhall, Oskar specialized in classical guitar with professor Robert Brightmore and had the opportunity to expand his craft studying theorbo with professor David Miller. After the studies at Guildhall has Oskar specialised on early music with lutes and baroque guitar as well as the repertoire for the romantic guitar of the 19-th century. 

Some credits include broadcasts for BBC radio, ITV and Danish radio. He has played in venues such as the Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Barbican Centre, London National Gallery and has appeared in festivals such as the Buxton Opera Festival and the London Handel Festival
